I am Naveed Rashid, born in Nottingham.
I have faced many challenges in my life but I have continued to work hard and it has made me who I am today.
I have never been in to politics but I’m a firm believer of your voice matters. The voice of the people of Nottingham, is a voice that brings change to society.
Residents should have voice and be able to use there voice to communicate with local Councilors and MPs in Nottingham and beyond.
In May 2023 I stood for the first time in local elections with Nottingham Independent party candidate for The Meadows.
Listed below are my key priorities for my campaign.
Community Provision - Re-opening closed community/access centres and Family support hubs.
Better Health Care - Working with the NHS to provide a better service at all local GP Centres.
Help to reduce waste issues, fly tipping and dog fouling in the City.
Working with all Education sectors to provide the necessary skills and qualifications.
I will work with local businesses.
Work with Nottingham City council to reduce waiting list for housing giving priority to low income famlies.
Resurface/Repairs of roads.
Work closely with the Police Commissioner to make our streets safer for our communities this will help reduce crime and youth violence.
Work, Play and socialise with people from all backgrounds.
I manage a non profit community organisation called Sahara Mental Health which aims to raise awareness and stamp out stigma of Mental Health with a focus on the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities.
This is done through Sports and Art programs for children and young people in East Midlands.
"Until we put ourselves in the shoes of others to know what they are going through, we will never understand Mental Health and the impact it has on lives"
